Next year they’ll be racing on a Nashville Street circuit that will take drivers over the Cumberland River via the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge

Also the starting and finish lines aren't the same line which is weird

Saw the layout on Twitter and didn’t notice then. That is weird. Why would that be done?

Also, 11 turns, 7 or 8 of which are just 90-degree city block turns? Doesn’t seem too particularly imaginative or exciting.

Yeah I don't know. Maybe because of the chicane right after the finish?

Why not? I suspect they wanted a specific distance and the course length was not evenly divisible.

That was the only reason I could think of

The headline made me picture Indycar on gravel, but then those hopes and dreams were dashed.

Man, the bachelorette parties are going to be pissed they shutdown part of downtown for a IndyCar race.
If you like live music or just watching people getting ridiculous drunk, downtown Nashville is a blast.

Mid Ohio just that to (or did) . Just trying to have everyone lined up cleanly for the start.

Nashville is close enough for a “ why the hell not?” excursion . Time for some phone calls, pretty sure I know some people in Nashville that will let me stay with them for the weekend.

More likely because it’s the only place they could put the “Starting Line Club” and those sound like expe n$ive $ea t$.

It’s for safety . For the finish, you don’t want it to be too close to a corner with a hard braking zone. Drivers will keep the throttle pinned from the last corner until the finish line on the last lap . That becomes problematic if there isn’t enough room for them to brake for the next turn.

Nashville (prior to COVID) is a fucking fun ass town. There’s tons of live music and awesome places to explore. I have friends who live there. Count me in.
This is awesome.
